Overdue BAS?

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has announced that from 1 April 2025, it will be moving small businesses with a history of non-payment, late or non lodgment, or incorrect reporting from quarterly to monthly GST reporting to improve their compliance. To avoid this potential increase in administrative burden, we can help you get up to date with your outstanding BAS as soon as possible

Who needs to lodge a BAS?

BAS lodgement is a requirement for any business that is registered for GST. Most small businesses registered for GST will lodge quarterly BAS. Compulsory GST registration is required for any business that has a gross turnover that equals or exceeds $75,000. The ATO also has special tax laws for taxi and rideshare drivers whereby they must register for GST. If you are unsure whether you need to register for GST or lodge BAS, contact your local H&R Block office today.
